Scripture

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. (Luke 10:2)

Mission Statement

The Mary Queen Vocation Ministry, inspired by Jesus’ words, will foster and affirm ordained and consecrated leadership from our community.

Ministry Description

Our goal is to foster and affirm vocations to the priesthood, sisterhood, brotherhood, and permanent deaconate. Our objective is to call forth priests, sisters, brothers, and permanent deacons from among the faithful in the parish, and to affirm those who now serve the Church.

Anyone interested in fostering and affirming vocations to the priesthood, deaconate, and religious life is welcome to participate in our ministry.

Activities

Our activities fall into three main categories.

  • Prayer activities to petition God’s help in providing priests, deacons, and religious. (E.g. Eucharistic adoration, vocation prayers, intercessions at Mass, spiritual bouquets and blessings).
  • Awareness activities to bring about religious vocation awareness in the parish, and to invite individuals to consider priesthood, deaconate or religious life. (E.g. bulletin inserts, homilies, ministry fair, radio spots, Life Awareness, Explore, Insight, Myriam Dinner, World Day of Prayer, Priesthood Sunday, National Vocation Awareness Week and World Day for Consecrated Life).
  • Affirmation activities to show love, respect, gratitude and encouragement to those who have accepted the call to the priesthood, deaconate or religious life. (E.g. celebration of anniversaries of priests, deacons, brothers, altar server award/recognition and seminarian care packages).

Events

As planned by the Vocation Ministry Team.

Volunteer/Service Opportunities
