Mission Statement

Rooted in our Catholic faith, the Ministry of Compassion responds to God’s call to comfort and accompany those experiencing illness, death, and grief through prayer, caring presence, and acts of service.

Funeral Assistants:

Funeral Assistants are part of Mary Queen's Ministry of Compassion, offering a caring and welcoming presence to families as they gather to celebrate the life of a loved one. Volunteers assist with funeral Masses ensure the liturgy flows smoothly and reverently and that the families feel supported and cared for during this difficult day.

Funeral Receptions:

The Funeral Reception Ministry provides a welcoming space where grieving families and friends can gather after a funeral to share memories, find comfort, and support one another.

Volunteers serve in two important ways: preparing or donating desserts and helping with the receptions by setting up, serving refreshments, and cleaning up afterward.

This ministry is a beautiful expression of Christian hospitality, offering comfort through simple acts of kindness and service. Volunteers serve as their schedules allow, helping families experience the love and compassion of their parish community during a time of loss. Grief & Grace

Finding Comfort, Healing, and Hope Through Faith

Grief & Grace is a faith-centered support group for adults grieving the loss of a loved one. Offered four times a year, this six-week program uses the Seasons of Hope journals and is guided by two certified Ministers of Consolation, one of whom is also a licensed social worker.

Through prayer, reflection, and compassionate conversation, participants find support, share their experiences, and discover practical tools for navigating the journey of grief.

Come experience God's comfort, healing, and renewed hope in a caring community of faith.
